Behind the scenes of the media installation of the SAVE project at Pirnaischer Platz in Dresden

The project "Sicherung des audiovisuellen Erbes in Sachsen (SAVE,)", a cooperation between the Filmverband Sachsen and the SLUB Dresden, showed a selection of its treasures in an ambitious media installation at Pirnaischer Platz in Dresden. I have got the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes and capture the unique atmosphere of the venue with my camera.

The Harbour: Architecture and Symmetry

Perspective is the key. With the appropriate wide-angle lens, ordinary buildings lined up in a row or a lone cargo crane create a completely new structure in a photo.

Karneval der Kulturen

The Karneval der Kulturen is a joyful statement for an open and intercultural society. I have been there almost every year since 2013. I enjoy the colourful atmosphere, the hustle and bustle of the large crowd, the smell of exotic food and, of course, the great music.

Along Brick Lane, the colorful impressions just rained down on me. Fortunately, I could take a lot of time with my camera at the Old Spitalfields Market, The Brick Lane Food Hall and the Brick Lane Sunday Market. Let's go through London's colorful places.

Evening Mood and Sea of Lights

I was inspired by an article in a local newspaper so I took the Dresden suspension railway up to Oberloschwitz. Finally arrived, a panoramic view was waiting for me, a sea of lights in the evening that you don't often see in Dresden.

For me, being on holiday is mostly about relaxing and taking time to discover and enjoy a new city and the world around it, especially in a city like Dublin, in a country like Ireland. Follow me through Dublin and The Liberties as I have seen it.
