Karneval der Kulturen

"The Karneval der Kulturen is a joyful statement for an open and intercultural society. For more than 20 years, it has reflected the diversity of Berlin like no other event. People from very different backgrounds and cultural contexts come together to creatively bring their passions, ideas and desires to the streets and share them with an open-minded audience, with no admission costs. The daily creative and integrative work of the participating groups becomes visible to the public on the Pentecost holiday weekend." I really couldn't have put it any more precisely than the organisers themselves. I have been there almost every year since 2013. I enjoy the colourful atmosphere, the hustle and bustle of the large crowd, the smell of exotic food and, of course, the great music.

In the beginning I was a bit lighter with my Fuji X-T1 and the great XF 23mm f1.4 R, now a bit heavier with the D500 and the Nikkor 23mm f1.8., but it doesn't matter. There is so much to discover every time, so the little bit more extra weight doesn't bother me so much.
